Recycling Program

In 1986, The Califorina Beverage Container Recycling & Litter Reduction Act created a statewide beverage container recycling program that establishes minimum refund values on Califorina approved beverage containers.

How recycling works

Cal-Recycle program is managed by Conservation Department. Dealers (those selling beverage containters "Pepsi containers, or water bottles") collect a fee from customers for their buying a Beverage Container. This fee is turned over to the State of California. These fees are then paid to Certified Recycling Centers as they pay for the recycling material received.

Containers that are approved:

Unless the container is properly labeled identifying the item is a California Redeemable container, E&C Recycling will not accept the container(s).

Out of state beverage containers will not be accepted at an E & C Recycling location.

California Refund Value (CRV)

acceptable containers include:

• California Cash Refund

• CA Cash Refund

• CA Redemption Value • California Redemption Value

• CA CRV
